An interview with Mr. Andrey Alecseev, director of Government enterprise “Tuloma” - Murmansk region. Participated in danishknowhow dairy and beef management program in May 2007.
Why did you choose Denmark as a country to get know-how in dairy production?
We went to Denmark, because Denmark is one of the leaders in milk production with the settled traditions.
Have you discovered new things for yourself?
I have learned a lot of new things about animals (cows): housing, feeding, food preparation, care take, economy and management.
Which steps did you take after returning to the working place?
Many ways of thinking have been changed during the studying process. Now we changed feeding facilities and methods, ways of milking and treatment of animals at our farm.
Have you introduced the know-how to your employees ?
After analysis of the received information a seminar has been held . Studying process goes till now and will continue, as it is very difficult to overcome habits of people.
Will you recommend other agricultural producers to go for training in Denmark ?
Yes, I can recommend to other farmers and directors to go to Denmark. I am going to send our own livestock specialist on this course later this year . What was your general impression about the country? Denmark is the fine country with a silent and beautiful capital.
